Policies and Procedures Don't Disturb Sign

The following I will describe how to handle if there are guests who put DND sign, if you work as a room attendant definitely will not be familiar with the term DND. The following procedures and policies DND sign:




  • At all times, Room attendant must respect the privacy of the guest hence the Room attendant shall never enter a guest room disturb a guest as long as the "Do Not Disturb"(DND) sign is displayed.
  • The Room attendant informs the floor  supervisor at 15.00 hours of any DND of DL room.
  • The supervisor will call the room concerned and check whether the guest would like to have his room serviced. if the guest replies, service will be done as per his request. Should there be no replay a card will be hanging on his door informing the guest to call housekeeping should be need service.
  • If there is no answer,  supervisor will check the room with duty manager and scurity at 18.00 hours, housekeeping will place don't disturb card confirmation hanging on the door; in order to ensure that all is well. room however not be service.
  • A master list of these room will be handed over the afternoon supervisor.
  • Room not serviced by both the AM and PM SHIFT ROOM attendant will be logged by the PM supervisors. the night shift attendant will be given a copy of the rooms numbers in case service is requested during the night
  • The following day, the list off room logged by the PM supervisor and not serviced by the night shift attendant will be given to the morning supervisor or executive housekeeper. these room must be check together with security or duty manager ( back to point 2 onwords)
